Are you going out of town or need a break
from
the daily responsibility of caring for a loved one?
The Lima Convalescent Home offers short term stays and
accommodations are almost always available. If a person has an illness
or elective surgery and doesn't wish to have private help come to their
home afterward, they are more than welcome to take advantage of our
services for a week or two, or even just a long weekend! Sometimes,
when a person in the community is taking care of an older relative in
their home, the burden becomes emotionally and physically overwhelming.
We offer the caregiver the opportunity to have us look after the person's
needs while they go on vacation, take care of family business, or just
"take a well deserved breather." Many times family members
have called us to schedule an admission to the nursing home several
weeks in advance, when they know they have to be out of town for awhile.
We welcome these opportunities to help.
Special-Care
Unit (back to top)
Lima Convalescent Home's Special Care Unit offers:
24 hour, permanent nursing staff specifically trained to care for persons
with dementia related diseases; Nursing staff whose time is committed
to helping residents with their daily living tasks; Safety and security
precautions which allows the resident freedom of movement, but always
maintaining constant supervision.
The Residents in the Special Care Unit will enjoy:
Short, active programs assured to keep residents' attention and involvement;
Various trips, outings, active times and quiet times; A private, secure
outdoor courtyard; The relaxing atmosphere of the unit created by the
light colors and carpeting in the hallways.
