Basic
Services, Part I (back to top) Meals- The evening meal is prepared and served restaurant style in the Lochhaven dining room. Dinner is a selective full-course meal, and is included in the Basic Rate. Residents may invite guests for a nominal fee, if advance notice is given. A private dining room is available for special occasions, at no charge. Information on additional meals can be found in the information packet. Health Care Monitoring- A health assessment by a licensed health care professional is required prior to Lochhaven, and annually thereafter. Lochhaven staff will review the assessment and become familiar with the resident. As changes in condition are noted, the resident and family will be notified. Emergency Response - An emergency call button system is provided in all our bedrooms and baths. It is answered promptly by trained personnel 24 hours per day. Transportation - Group transportation is available and scheduled through the Activity Department. A lift equipped van generally takes residents to the grocery weekly, as well as to one of the malls or shopping centers another day each week. Outing are planned periodically, to go out for lunch, or a local park, event or attraction. Activities - There are scheduled daily social, religious and recreational activities, including exercise class, parties, crafts, games, and speakers. Basic Services, Part II (back to top) Personal Security - In addition to the emergency response system, Lochhaven staff check on each resident twice daily. Residents are given a magnetic heart upon admission, and asked to display it on the outside of their apartment door frame each evening before retiring. Each resident is asked to take the heart inside each morning before 10:00. Rounds are made at 10:00 each day to ensure that all residents have been up, and have taken in their hearts. Staff also checks for each resident at dinner daily. Building Security - Each resident can screen visitors by a special intercom system to the main entrance. The general public does not have access to the building, unless someone inside admits them. In addition, professional security personnel patrol the building and grounds during the night hours. The entire building is equipped with closed circuit camera system, sprinklers and smoke detection systems. The system in all common areas is monitored by a security company that will automatically call the fire department in case of activation. The smoke alarms in the apartments also alert Lochhaven staff that an alarm has been activated. Housekeeping - Thorough cleaning of the apartment will be provided monthly. Additional cleaning may be provided according to the A La Carte Menu of Services. Maintenance - Experienced staff members are available to respond to repair and maintenance needs, which may arise in your apartment. Utilities - Public utilities are included in the basic rent, except for telephone and cable television service. The resident should make their own arrangements for the two services. Guests - Residents are encouraged to invited guests to join them for meals and activities at Lochhaven. Each resident may have one guest per month for any meal at no charge. There are no entry fees or investments required of the residents. A security deposit equal to one month's rent is required to be paid prior to admission. It is returned, less any balance due or charges for damages in excess of normal wear and tear, after the apartment is vacated. In addition to the basic services provided at Lochhaven, all our residents enjoy a number of other conveniences, including the following. Banking - Several local banks provide services on a weekly basis right inside the Lochhaven Building. See the business office for participating banks, times and locations. Common Areas - There are many options for residents to meet, or invite their friends and family to join them at Lochhaven. The coffee is always on in the lobby, inviting residents to socialize with each other. The private dining room accommodates up to eight people, and an activity room is available for larger groups. A number of lounges are also available for card clubs or other gatherings. Beauty/Barber Salon - A full service licensed beauty/barber salon is housed right here on our campus. All Lochhaven residents can avail themselves of these services, provided at competitive prices. General Store - Lochhaven's General Store stocks a few of the necessities of life -facial and toilet tissue, greeting cards, milk, orange juice, and snacks. Library - Avid readers will be right at home at Lochhaven. Our library houses a collection of several thousand books, many of them in large print. Two magnifying lamps are also available. The Lima Public Library's MediaMobile makes regular visits to Lochhaven as well. Laundry Facilities - Coin operated laundry facilities are available on each floor of Lochhaven. The Court at Lochhaven (back to top) We want to make your stay with us as comfortable and pleasant as possible. We believe it is very important for us to treat not only your physical needs, but your emotional needs as well. At The Court at Lochhaven, the resident's needs come first. The Court at Lochhaven provides intimate living space, with nine private suites available. There are no entry fees or investments required of the residents. The Bedford - A comprehensive Package (back to top) The Bedford offers an emenity package of services in addition to the basic services enjoyed by all residents of Lochhven. it is an alternative to choosing services from the A La Carte Menu. The Bedford includes the following additional services, at a flat rate per day.
